Sometimes it takes the help of media consumer advocates to get the
hearing aid refund a person is entitled to. That's what happened
with one senior citizen. After a long wait for a refund, she
received a bounced check. Then the consumer advocate program
stepped in, and she was finally able to get a refund that enabled
her to buy different hearing aids.

How to Cope with Sudden Hearing Loss?
Have you experienced sudden hearing loss? How did you cope with it
without becoming depressed? As someone who was born deaf and grew
up deaf, deafness is second nature for me. Therefore I can
sympathize, but I can not empathize, with someone who has just
experienced sudden deafness. What advice would you give to someone
who has just become suddenly deaf after having been a hearing
person (or merely mildly hard of hearing) ?

Whistling Hearing Aid Threatens Job
Dave on the forum is struggling to control his whistling hearing
aids. (I thought that modern hearing aids had better whistle
control technology?) His supervisors ordered him to stop using the
hearing aid because the whistling was bothering his co-workers. Now
Dave can't hear on the job, and is experiencing headaches, nausea,
and even depression. How can Dave control his hearing aids'
whistling and save both his job and his right to hear? Ideas from
any hearing aid users out there (I have an implant, so whistling is
not an issue for me)? Newsletter|Twitter|Facebook|Forum Whistling
